Okay, time for an update…
I haven’t been doing much work lately. I’d love to blame “unexpected time out of the house to prepare for foul weather,” but the weather honestly was nowhere near as bad as expected where I live, not that I didn’t spend a couple days stuck inside. It’s been a purely motivational issue: I just haven’t had any. I don’t think anything’s wrong, I’ve just been having some trouble getting focused and motivated.
This isn’t to say that I haven’t been doing anything…I’ve been working on a piece of digital art which will be attached to The Princess in the Cell.
It’s more along the lines of not being able to focus and work on the right thing(s). So, the followup to The Aos Si’s Gift has definitely had a setback over the past roughly week to week and a half.
[As a side note, the screen-cap above shows…well, an irritating amount of time sunk into it. I’m learning to do things (somewhat) more efficiently, but I still have a very long way to go on digital drawing and what-not. I’ll admit that I’m just not very good at it…yet. It’s especially frustrating, though, considering that the base below for that was done in half the time it took me to get as far as the screenshot above.
Of course, I’ll be the first to admit that this is a skill issue, but it has absolutely had an effect on my workflow for The Princess in the Cell and other things I’ve wanted to do. So, I’m going to have to do a lot more practice before I do too much more with it.]
Either way, I’ve decided to post the next installment to The Pale Man with or without illustrations. So far, the order for that series of linearly connected short stories (that forms a bigger short story) is as follows:
Chapter III: Something in the Forest
For now, these stories are still primarily being posted on Substack until I can complete the work getting post and blog sections working.
Of course that brings me to the last point…I’ve fallen way behind on my intended work schedule for this website–a fact which should be rather obvious, I suppose.
Either way, that’s a quick round-up for what’s been going on the last week or so.
